Longboat Key Garden Club
  A social, philanthropic, eco-friendly organization

LBKGC Grants

The Garden Club funds grants to help non-profits implement projects which support the Club’s objectives.

The application process requires applicants to state the purpose of their organization, to describe a project for which funding is requested, and to relate the request to the Garden Club’s objectives.

Winning applications must meet four basic objectives of the Garden Club including:

(1) stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening;
(2) preserve the natural beauty of Longboat Key and/or surrounding areas;
(3) foster the preservation of our wildlife, birds, and the purity of our waters;
(4) support wider environmental concerns and to educate our youth and/or adults accordingly.

Our grants generally fall in the range of $100 to $1000 or more at the Garden Club’s discretion. All applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2015 to qualify. Grant recipients will be asked to complete a brief follow-up report to describe how they implemented the funds that were awarded. Recipients will be honored at our annual meeting in April.
